Philosophy
Holy Rosary Academy assists parents, the primary educators, to form students in faith, reason, and virtue through a classical education in the Roman Catholic Tradition.
Founded by parents, this school exists to assist and complement the primary educators: the parents. Students learn to live a vibrant Catholic life through attendance at Mass, prayer, study, camaraderie, and apostolic work. The teachers employ the basic tools of the Trivium, a course of study that follows the three-lane path of grammar, logic, and rhetoric. The Trivium honors the natural stages of children’s intellectual development: developing memory (grammar), sound reasoning (logic), and communication skills (rhetoric). Surrounded by well-qualified and faith-filled faculty and staff, the students are prepared to pursue their vocation and continue a lifelong love of learning.

At Holy Rosary Academy, we believe that giving a child the gift of a classical and Catholic education is the best possible preparation for success in this life, and in the life of the world to come. We furnish students with a program of academic and spiritual formation that helps them to be their best selves.
Founded in 1987, Holy Rosary Academy is an independent classical school in the Catholic tradition. We are accredited by the National Association of Private Catholic and Independent Schools and are a full member school of the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education. Recognized by the Cardinal Newman Society as a Catholic Education Honor Roll School, HRA has also been honored by Ruah Woods as a Theology of the Body Campus. In 2022 and 2023, Niche ranked Holy Rosary Academy as the Top Private High School in Alaska.
Holy Rosary Academy is conveniently located in midtown Anchorage. Our expansive campus includes an upper school building, a lower school building that houses our administrative offices and grades 3-6, the St. John Paul II chapel, the St. Dominic activities building, and the K-2 learning cottages.
