Where Faith & Reason Meet in Pursuit of Excellence

Discover what makes Holy Rosary Academy different.

We are delighted that you are interested in learning more about Holy Rosary Academy! Holy Rosary is unique in the state of Alaska, where we are the only school to offer a classical education in the Roman Catholic tradition.

Holy Rosary Academy serves families who are seeking a combination of authentic Christian faith formation and a rigorous academic curriculum for their K - 12th grade student. We seek families who welcome the opportunity to partner with us in forming students who are devout, kind, astute, intellectually curious, and service-oriented.

1) Plan a visit.

The best way to see what makes Holy Rosary Academy unique is to come and see it for yourself. We encourage families to come tour our campus, meet our teachers, and spend some time with the principal so that you can experience the Holy Rosary Academy difference. Schedule a tour by filling out our inquiry form, calling (907-276-5822) or emailing the office (frontoffice@hraak.org) today!

2) Take placement testing and receive records.

At Holy Rosary Academy, we seek to educate the whole child: body, soul, and mind. To help our students flourish, all prospective students take placement tests in math and reading comprehension. These tests help identify areas of academic strengths as well as opportunities for growth; for those students who meet HRA’s academic standards, the test results are used to determine the most appropriate classes and grade level. Testing can be scheduled following the school tour, and the results will be discussed during the family interview. A non-refundable testing fee of $50 is required at the time of the placement test.

In addition, HRA requests that you provide an academic transcript to our admissions specialist along with a recommendation from a previous teacher of your child. The recommendation should be written by someone who has taught your child within the past six months, preferably from their most recent school. The teacher should give an overview of your child’s academic progress.

Upon receipt of your child’s academic transcript, teacher recommendation, and placement testing scores, an admissions decision is made.

3) Meet with the Principal.

If needed, a meeting with the Principal is scheduled in order to answer any questions you may have, as well as to ensure a common understanding of Holy Rosary Academy’s mission and culture. This conversation helps determine whether a partnership would meet both the expectations of HRA and your child’s needs. It can be scheduled following placement testing and a school tour, and can help the admissions decision.

4) Submit application.

Once you have completed the initial steps and the admissions decision is favorable, an application link will be emailed to you. When a complete application per student and a $300 non-refundable enrollment fee per student is received in the office, that student is fully enrolled and ready to learn at HRA!
